"My time at Brooksby Day Hospital was very helpful"

About: Brooksby Day Hospital / Occupational Therapy

(as the patient),

My time at Brooksby Day Hospital was very helpful. The reason for my visit was to help me (after an illness) with my mobility and to regain my confidence.

Talking and listening to the occupational therapist was very helpful. She understood exactly how I was feeling. She helped me with my breathing and visited me in my home to make sure I was safe and had everything I needed to keep me safe and I thank her for her love and care.

I was also helped and encouraged by the physiotherapist who talked to me an listen to me and gave me exercises to do which have helped. The nurses who picked me up and brought me home were every thoughtful and kind for all the love and care that I received. I am very grateful. I felt so much better and I have my confidence back and I thank God for all the staff at the Brooksby Day Hospital

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Keep793,

Thank you, what a lovely picture you have painted of the care you got from this service and so nice to hear about 'love and care', It may or may not make the word go round, but is sure helps enormously.

I hope your recovery and confidence grow each day until you are fully fit.

I will pass this to the team and I know they will be delighted to hear your thoughts.

Best wishes,

Eunice

Dear Keep793

I was delighted to read your post sharing the positive and person centred care you feel has been provided by your Occupational Therapist and the impact this has had on you personally to support your well being and recovery. I will ensure the therapist is aware of what a difference her approach and her Occupational Therapy treatment has made to you personally.

Many thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

Best wishes

Sandra
