Anything else?
my parent was referred to pontefract hospital for an appointment today. On arrival they were queing in the corridors as there was not enough staff to cope. At 73 yrs old and recently had a mild stroke and surgery to artery in neck 2 weeks ago eventually saw doctor who then told him he had to go to other part of hospital across the road, with no help other than from a cleaner who saw my mother struggling and brought a wheelchair . On arrival at the urology ward the nurse on duty was very confrontational, rude and told my parents they would not be seen as she already had too many patients, she then returned to her office abandoning them. Not knowing what else to do my mother then pushed him back across to the other side again getting help from an ambulance crew who organised for them to be taken home. This is obviously totally unprofessional, unacceptable and warrants further investigation. This incident of abandoning a patient who has attended by appointment was very traumatic for both my parents and will await a reply before taking the matter further
