"Terrible experience"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

Was admitted for a varicose veil operation under general. It all seemed totally disorganised from the moment I was given a bed. The nurses has no organisation going on? Asking each other questions etc. they complained they were over staffed yet they were always in groups just chatting? Not getting on with the everyday tasks of running a ward. I was violently sick after my operation which I have never been sick after an Opp. I had to ask another patients visitor to quickly get the nurse for a sick bowl. The nurse just left the bowl and walked off. I had to ask the nurse for more bowls as I was filling them quickly, the nurse just left the full ones there until I asked them to please can you take them? At one point I was choking with being sick so much, but all the nurse did was pull the curtain across so the other patients could not see me vomiting. I wanted to go home that evening but was told because I have been sick the doctor might want you to stay in? They did not no when the doctor would come round. So my husband said around 8pm she is going home. He could care for me better. I was told I could go then with no instructions whatsoever on what to do next. Just was given a stocking to put on my leg when dressing comes off? I went on the Internet to find out aftercare from this Opp. The only time NHS is acceptable is when it's an emergency, but just normal routine operations forget the NHS.
