"I want to keep some independence"

About: North Ayrshire Council - Three Towns, North Coast and Arran

(as a service user),

I get carers every morning, 7 days a week to get me washed and ready. My boy is really the one who does most for looking after me, he does the cooking, cleaning and the washing.

I get a bit fed up with the carers as I get more help than I want and feel I need. I want to keep some independence. This morning I was dressed before they arrived. I did get a shower put in my house and I do need help to get in and out. It’s frustrating when you can’t do things anymore.
