I collapsed at the Frome Health Centre causing three doctors to attend to me, give me oxygen and call for an ambulance.
The paramedic and his driver were excellent. Pete Hallett, the paramedic also examined me and decided I should be taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for further checks. The driver was very considerate and took the longer route to avoid the bumpy roads.
The staff at the hospital were great – there was a lot of waiting around in between all the tests they wanted to conduct but this was to be expected.
The downside to the whole episode is that I had very little money on me and no means of getting back home as I live 18 miles from the hospital. The hospital organized a taxi for me and will be sending me the bill for it.
I’ll be going back to see my GP in a week’s time to get the results of the tests.
