"Ashfield emotional health and wellbeing team"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – Community(County)

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter's Camhs counsellor lost his job. After several attempts to contact the team and find out what happens to her now I am informed that there is only 1 District Lead manager for the whole of North Notts.

We have had no letter explaining what's going on or why. The counsellor was my daughter's lifeline in very trying times. Seeing as there is no crisis team for young people I suppose I will have to wait till she self harms again before taking her to an A &E department and asking for more expensive and acute services.

Not impressed.

Good morning and thank you for taking the time to post your feedback.

I am sorry to hear that the communication between yourself and the team has been difficult. I would like to assure you that there have been no job losses/redundancies and the employee to whom you refer was employed on a temporary contract which had come to an end.

The whole CAMH service is undergoing transformation at present, as we understand that greater investment is needed in order to meet the demand. The transformation will see a new CAMHS pathway which will focus on reducing waiting times and ensuring that all children and young people with a mental health need are seen in a timely manner by the most appropriate clinician and receive evidence-based care.

In the meantime, plans have been put in place to ensure that care is continued for those affected by contracts ending. I would encourage you to contact Debbie Tinsley (District Lead) to further discuss your daughter's care and the plans moving forward. Her mobile telephone number is 07773066219.

Alternatively, you may contact myself on 01623 785373.

Thank you again for your feedback.
