"Understanding of dementia"

About: Northern General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My mother recently spent 6 weeks in northern general hospital on Breasley 7 receiving end of life care. The staff were kind and caring towards their patients and the relatives. The treatment and understanding of dementia patients was far better than other wards where my mother has been in the past. The level of staffing was high and I found doctors and nurses approachable. It was much easier on this ward to get information about my mother’s condition and treatment than other wards I have experienced.

Thank you for posting your thoughts on yours and your mother's experience on Brearley 7.

It was very kind of you for letting us know how staff had helped at this very sad and difficult time for you. Your kind words will be passed on to the staff involved who value the praise that they receive.

Kind regards and best wishes.
