What I liked

Easy to find designated room, and seen on time.

What could be improved

The car parking facilities are pathetic.They are nowhere near enough.They don't inform if they are full once inside, you can keep driving round and round. Not enough spaces allocated for disabled people. Especially near the entrances.And it is very dangerous with people walking on the roads, due to no pavement in some areas.

Anything else?

The location of the hospital is not very good. It took me 2 hours to do a 10 mile trip. This was due to the amount of traffic. But i have to use the a38 or the ring road to get there.If i had no car, i would not use this hospital at all.It is very awkward,and time consuming to get there for people without a car

Thank you for your feedback. Over the past few weeks we have been working hard to create more car parking spaces for patients and visitors, today (15th Feb 2010) we opened 100 additional spaces dedicated to patients & visitors in Car park 7.

There are 125 disabled spaces in the 8 on-site car parks at the Royal Derby Hospital, including 64 disabled spaces in car park 3. There are also drop-off points close to most entrances.

Each barrier on all of the 8 car parks at Royal Derby Hospital has the facility to show a message that the car park is full. Thank you for this suggestion, we are currently looking into introducing more visible signage to inform car users of how many spaces are available.

The Royal Derby Link bus provides a quick 10 minute service between the Royal Derby Hospital & Derby City Centre. There are a number of bus services which frequent the Royal Derby Hospital, more information can be found on www.derbyhospitals.nhs.uk.
