I first met a student Occupational Therapist working with the Social Inclusion and Wellbeing Service. I couldn’t relax and my mind was spinning. I wasn’t going out at all. She was good. I was told about the Next Step network at Debenhams and taken a couple of times. I go to a drop-in and also do relaxation. There is going to be a pool group. It is good - they are nice people. S at next Steps goes round the table, so that everyone can speak. I didn’t say much at first.
My support worker told me about photography at the Hub. I was a bit worried, as I didn’t think it would be people like me, but when I went, it was ok as all the people were poorly. I knew that I could have support to go but I managed to go on my own. I am going to do pottery at The Place next. I have made some pots at home and hope I can take them and get them fired.
My sister is supportive. I am happy with all the services provided at Stonebridge – they are essential. It is a professional service, they are trained and know what they are doing. I felt at ease with all the staff straight away. There has been an improvement in my feelings. I now feel confident. It is important to make the effort.
