"The staff I met at Glenfield last ..."

About: Glenfield Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff I met at Glenfield last week and this week were superb. The pre assessment nurse was absolutuly fantastic and understanding of my difficulties nd arranged for a side room to be available in conjunction with the bed manager. The staff on Ward 33A were also were good and they provided a very prompt and efficient service. Special thanks for helping keep me calm and for not making me feel foolish at any point. The staff in the cardiac catheter suite especially charge nurse who were with me a lot of the time and helped to try to keep me settled. They were brilliant and at all times I was treated with dignity and respect which has been greatly lacking in many of the hospitals I have been in lately. Thank you all so much and special thanks to my consultant although I did not see them this time round they have always been very pleasant and courteous at all times in the past. You are all a shining example of how the NHS needs to get back to being. I am an NHS Professional myself and can honestly say that this is the best hospital I have ever been in and would set a great example to others. The dignity pegs were a very good idea.

What could be improved

Discharge letters could be available sooner or if there is going to be a long delay people should be given the choice of receiving them in the post.

Anything else?

Keep up the excellent work. The hospital also looked and smelt clean unlike many I have had the misfortune to visit recently
