"NHS Out-Patient for Cataracts Operation"

About: Pinehill Hospital

I visited Pinehill Hospital on Thursday 16th July as an out-patient for a cataracts operation. From the moment I arrived I was dealt with promptly efficiently and warmly, as if I was the only patient in the hospital. Although the staff were working very hard I was made to feel relaxed and every step of what was happening was explained to me by the wonderful nursing staff. When I arrived at Theatre I was again treated in the same way by the consultant and their team both prior to and during the operation. At one point I had a drop in heart rate and the team showed genuine concern for my welfare and well being. At the completion of my operation I was swiftly given an ECG which did not record any problems. During this process which could have been stressful the staff continued to talk to me and there was plenty of humour and good natured banter. I was advised to consult my GP to get medication I was on for hypertension reviewed, which I duly did. I remain in good health and wish to place on record my grateful thanks to all the fantastic staff for making what could have been a difficult experience very memorable for all the right reasons. A very big thank you to everyone at Pinehill Hospital.
