"Amazing people, all dedicated to the job"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Neo-natal Intensive Care

(as a parent/guardian),

Our wee guy who was born 6 weeks premature and very fast and was in ICU for 4 weeks. I cannot thank the staff in this ward enough for the care they gave our baby, it's not just a job to these people as you can see how much they care for all the babies in this ward.

All the staff where amazing from the receptionist to the nurses to the cleaners and of course the consultants, I can't thank you all enough for saving our wee guys life and making sure we were ok in the process.

Amazing people, all dedicated to the job.

Many thanks

Hello J222,

Congratulations on the birth of your son and I hope your partner and son are both well.

The Neonatal team completely empathizes with how stressful this is for parents when your baby is born premature. The 4 weeks in intensive care and weeks following this would have been a very worrying and emotional time for you both.

I appreciate and thank you for feeding back to us the overwhelming gratitude for the full team of staff working within the NNU that provided the care and support that was required at this really difficult time for your baby son and both of you.

It is extremely heartwarming for NHS Lanarkshire staff and management to know that as a parent you observed and felt how amazing and dedicated all the staff working in the NNU are and how much they individually genuinely care for all the babies as well as providing the essential safe and effective and complex clinical care required.

We also welcome any suggestions of anything you feel we could improve on or do differrently in the days ahead. Please contact me directly on Tel: 01698 366354 if you have any ideas.

Warmest wishes

Wendy
