My mother arrived at hope after suffering a fit at the home were she lives, when we arrived hours later she was in resus , she was then moved to aeu cope ward for observations . while we with her most of Saturday she was very poorly, but, still had her dentures in ,later that evening we advised to go home and the nurse looking after her said they would update us with a phone call when their shift was over. No call. Early the next day we rang they said she was going home(lives in Rochdale) all day we rang to information nobody new what was going on,when she eventually got back home she had no dentures ,what a carry on to find out what happened to teeth, the best they could come up with was she took them out and threw them away ,this is an 85yr old half comatosed lady who didn't have the strength to lift her arms.anyway back and forth for a week now we have been asking for teeth, did the nurse find any, no did the cleaner find any no are they in the wash no the ward is a wide open space magic teeth gone , I find it disgusting that teeth just disappeared and no one gives a stuff (old lady it happens) in the meantime mum is struggling to eat always wore dentures , the matron at the home was very upset as they have beeh reprimanded from hospitals before now for sending patients in with teeth and sometimes glasses as they say they disappear, we are going to make a complaint wont get any where I dare say , not impressed with hospital at all staff very indifferent and not very good at communication between each other.
