"No Consideration to Patients"

About: Barnet Hospital

In March this year my sister saw the Pain Management Clinic Consultant, who advised she would need an injection to help with the back problem she has. My sister has telephoned on numerous occasions requesting an appointment, always with the same result, "We will transfer your call to the Consultants secretary", the call is transferred, voice mail kicks in, a message is left with contact details, and she has heard nothing since. It would appear that the administrative staff at BGH have more important things than looking after patients. The hospital has notices stating their staff should be treated with courtesy & respect, and no one would argue with that, regrettably it appears this only works one way, when it comes to patients being treated with respect BGH seem to forget.

Sorry to hear that your sister has had a poor experience with us. We would like to look into this further and help her to get an appointment. If you or your sister can get in touch with the patient advice and liaison service at Barnet Hospital on 020 8216 4924 or bcfpals@nhs.net, they will be happy to help you.
