"community midwife all aspects ..."

About: Stafford Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

community midwife all aspects were good.

Delivery choice good information.

Delivery suite helpful and delivery of baby

good.

Moved to ward midwife ok care staff in my view require retraining in the care respect shown to a new mum. Just wanted to get my daughter and grandchild home. One particular care worker showed my daughter no respect whatsover and treated her like a 2nd rate citizen apparently she had worked a 12 hour shift and a baby what required help in being changed was a little too much for her. Well my daughter had delivered a baby not slept for more than 24 hours, was a new mum, had read every all books and prepared herself for the arrival and care for her new baby to have it all contradicted. Was then rudely spoken to my daughter by asking her if she was stupid. The only consolation is the person in question did not have me on ward. Utterly disgusted. I have worked in health care profession for over 18 years and would never speak or disrespect a patients using our NHS Facilities.

What could be improved

Hospital in delivery suite requires cleaning as the furniture is well used old and broken.

Toilet seats bathrooms requiring all new.

All lime stained taps require steam cleaning as there is mould growing and all this where a new life is delivered.

Training in diginity and respect at all times

which is a must in those who choose to work within all hospital envioronments with patient contact.

Anything else?

Being helpful and respectful surely should make oneself feel a great job satisfaction.

In my experience finishing a 12 hour 16 hour shift and receiving a patients grateful thanks is the best feeling to go home on, makes all feel of worth.

If bored with work either retrain or let some one else work who would appreciate respect the post they have.
