What I liked
A few of the staff were kind & caring towards me.
What could be improved
The way I was treated throughout my stay.
I stayed Fri to Mon and over the weekend the staff on shift were rushed of their feet, looked stressed and annoyed if a patient asked a question. I would be given tablets but had no water given to take with them, when I asked for some the nurse moaned to themselves, told me they would get me some later and never did. Thank goodness my family visited frequently to help me! On the day of my operation I was given one drink and no food all day despite not having eaten since the night before and again no jug of water given. I would ask for extra pain relief as I was told I could and would use my buzzer only to not have it answered. If answered I would sometimes wait up to 2/3 hours for someone to bring me relief. When I became distressed the nurse looked at me in disgust and told me she'd come back when "I'd pulled myself together." The nurses were so noisy chatting at night times I'd have to ask them to be quiet because I couldn't sleep. They continued regardless. There are so many bad memories of my stay I'd be typing for a long time to catalog them all.
Anything else?
Sadly I would be extremely worried about ever having any medical procedure at this hospital in the future.
