Since November, 2014 I have attended monthly at the MIU at UHND for venesection as I have genetic haemachromatosis. The two nurses who run the unit are simply wonderful ambassadors for CDDFT; their professionalism and caring attitude to everyone, patients and relatives/carers alike is outstanding. Consequently, I have the utmost confidence in them. They work so well as a team and are responsible for and promote a comfortable, reassuring and relaxed atmosphere in the unit. I have observed firsthand their excellent teamwork and also how they work closely and very well with other staff who come onto the unit. I have found them to be exceptionally caring towards myself and all the other patients who have been present when I have attended. These nurses are clearly highly skilled individuals with an excellent knowledge of certainly my medical condition and, from conversations I've had with other patients, it is clear to me that my perception of the unit is mirrored by many, many others. Congratulations on having such great staff.
