"A and E. Dislocated Shoulder. Amazing Care"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I supported my mum to attend A and E on Sunday 26th July after she had a nasty fall. She had severely dislocated her shoulder and needed several hours treatment. All of the A and E nurses, care assistants , X-Ray and Doctors were so kind. They could not have done more to help and reassure my mum and kept her and I informed constantly. Very polite staff, including receptionist staff. Very clean department. You all made a difficult visit easier. And my mug of tea was so welcome towards the end of our visit. I had not eaten or had a drink for almost 6 hours and a mug of tea hit the spot. Thank-you very much.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are grateful to know that a traumatic event was made much easier by the care and consideration of the staff who attended you and your mother. You raised a number of points that I found very reassuring and I am pleased that you picked up on them during your time in the Emergency Department. We appreciate your detailed feedback as it helps the staff to do the right thing for the next patient. I am pleased to hear that you were also offered a cup of tea while your mum was being treated, making your stay a little more comfortable. I will pass on your comments to the Emergency Department Head of Nursing and Matron who I know will share this with the rest of her team. Thank you again for your comments and I hope your mum recovers quickly. Regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
