"Bewildering Experience"

Bewildering Experience. Didn't know where I was. The building layout was confusing due to a lack of sign posting. I was unable to use the amenities I. e cooker, TV, DVD Player as no instruction manuals were available.

A better description of the centre would have helped, as would a list of do's and don'ts.

It was impossible for me to recover as the centre itself added to my confused and exhausted state of mind. I wanted to quit and go home when I was still very unwell.

Please take action on this. I felt suicidal due to the serious short comings within the organisation.

To Yonder262, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you found the layout of the building confusing. We have some signs up on each floor showing where rooms are and exits can be found, but we will review these with our service user involvement group to make sure they are as clear as they can be and add additional signs where needed.

A list of dos and don’ts in the form of our code of conduct does exist and is given to everyone to sign as part of their assessment. We also encourage people staying at the service to ask any questions they have if there is anything that’s unclear. However we will look at this again to make sure its as clear as possible.

Your idea of making the instruction manuals for the TV and DVD player available without having to ask staff is very useful and is something we can do. Our service user involvement group will look at doing this, along with your other suggestions.
