"Post Op Information"

About: Bristol Eye Hospital

The A&E Dept was extremely busy, we were given an update about waiting times and addition help, which was really helpful. So can't fault the initial process. However, having had an operation for a large retina repair, I was very disappointed not to have been discharged without any information about what to expect post op. A sheet with some 'what to expect' information would have been really useful, and would have eased some of the concerns I had regarding the swelling, blood in the eye, the increased numbers of 'floaters' or 'jellies', and how long they are likely to last. Also, what not to do e.g. lift heavy objects, rapid head movements etc. Some of this might be obvious, but it would give a little post operative comfort to know what to expect, rather than wonder if conditions were unusual.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with some feedback, we are pleased to hear your visit was largely good, however we are disappointed that you weren't given any advice to take away with you. This information has been passed onto management for their attention.
