My son had to have a minor operation in kempton day unit recently, from the time we went to pre op to the discharge on op day my son (& us mum & dad) were treated fantastically). All of the staff took their time in explaining everything to us & our 7 yr old son, they spent time with us, always checking in us, nothing was too much for them. They were always happy, smiley, professional at all times. It was my sons first experience of being in hospital but he was looked after amazingly well.

This is just what we are trying to achieve, so that if a child then has to come back for any future treatments, it is not such a daunting prospect for them or their carer.
