"Very Little to speak of, the consultant ..."

About: Russells Hall Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Very Little to speak of, the consultant who was the only one who acted quickly to prevent major problems.

What could be improved

Staff who dismiss the value of your possesions and empty your possesions to check, instead of putting them under lock and key. Having to go into the treatment room to get dressings and change them myself. No Basic hygiene, cleaner cleans the over bed table to the floor, then wants to clean the top where your food goes with the same cloth!!!! Staff who are sitting on the window sills, drinking drinks, moaning how hot it is, but will not bring the drinks round for the patients, even when asked. When I ask her name and role she refused at first then reluctantly gave her name as she walked off, but if you have to be treated lets hope that she is not the Auxilery who looks after you. A trust who has a No Children Can Visit Policy, who fail to mention this when informing my wife of visiting times, so when she arrives with my young son is told about the policy, but on the door is a sign, they can visit by prior arangment, when I asked we are told she should have phoned in advance, but if it is trust policy? how does that work?

Anything else?

I have taken my dog to the vets on many ocasions and must say he has recieved far better treatment, explanation of what is wrong and how it will be treated with a care plan and staff at all levels who are not rude, but show compasion and care att all times. Instead of people who, because you ask for basic items are treated worse than my dog.

We are acknowledging receipt of all feedback dating back to 2008, which was before the Trust began responding to all patient comments posted on the NHS Choices website.
