I was admitted to the Heart centre on the 8th of July 2015 for a pacemaker replacement and ablation therapy. I was a little surprised that the surgeon wanted to change procedure slight by fitting a 2 wire pacemaker instead of the 3 wire as discussed with the Consultant. They did however convince me that a significant reduction in risk, and a similar outcome would be effected. I agreed with them and the procedure whilst not 'pleasant ' was carried out in a professional and sympathetic manner, with ample sedation and local anaesthetic. The aftercare both in the recovery room and the acute cardiac ward was second to none, and I would like to give special thanks to the nurse who looked after me throughout my recovery. Hearty congratulations to all departments involved. Considering my poor state of health due to several factors prior to the procedure, may I thank you for giving me a normal life again.
