"I cannot thank the staff enough"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

My story started with an out of hours appointment at Lincoln County where the gp that I saw was amazing, far better than you would expect. After being admitted and taken to the ward for repeat nebulizers which I never received, it then took 10 hours from start to finish to essentially just be discharged, following x-rays and blood tests of which they couldn't get on the system to tell me the results.

5 days later and still no better I had an emergency appointment with my GP, I was sent straight to Pilgrim Hospital A+E department who were told that I was on the way. I was met straight away by the triage nurse who was kind and very understanding. I was assessed and taken through to the resus room. In the next 30 minutes all of the staff that I met were amazing, efficient, and all took the time to explain what was happening in a reassuring, friendly manner. I had bloods, blood gases, chest x-rays, IV inserted, nebulizers and heart monitoring all in the space of 45 minutes. I cannot thank all of the staff in charge of my care enough, they were all amazing and upon discharge assured me that I was welcome to return if my condition started to deteriorate. If the staff are reading this then thank you so very much I couldn’t have had better care even if I had paid for it.
