"Terrible waiting times"

About: Burnley General Hospital

My Mother was referred by her Gp to the department in June, she is in a lot of pain and is really suffering. On contacting the department we have been told the earliest appt is November! This site says the waiting time is 5 weeks, this is a lie. NICE guidelines say 6 weeks! 6 months is nothing short of disgraceful. Discusted

Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our rheumatology service, and thank-you for taking the time to do so. I will make sure your concerns are passed onto the team. I am very sorry to hear that your mother is waiting for a rheumatology appointment, your comment is anonymous so it is difficult for us to look into referral details. I am keen for you to contact me (Meg Davey) on 01254 733698 or email me on margaret.davey@elht.nhs.uk then we can look into the matter further. If you would like to share your experience in confidence with an independent organisation please contact Healthwatch BwD on 01254 504985 or info@healthwatchblackburnwithdarwen.co.uk Or if you prefer you can discuss further any concerns you may have about our services with our East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Customer Relations team on 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk who can advise you of your options in raising these concerns further.
