"overnight admission after day care surgery"

although I was initially booked in for day surgery which was delayed for a considerable amount of time approx 9hours (fasting as well) my surgery did go ahead and I was kept in overnight on ward 7 orthopaedic , I cannot fault the care I received by the night staff who worked tirelessly to see to the needs of all the ward their attitude was very caring and professional. Two members of staff were so nice and nothing was too much trouble a big thank you to them both. The day staff I didn't have much interaction with but having said that they were no where near as good and accommodating in helping people to wash and dress.As regards the delay in having my surgery delayed I felt that there was a lack of information or choice .I am grateful that my surgery was done I wasn't given any medication for pain relief to take home so I think that should have been seen to. The main point of this is to ensure that if this happens again to anyone better information and honesty would be beneficial .
