"10 day stay, can not speak too highly of staff and..."

About: Dorset County Hospital

Recently referred to A&E in Dorchester by my GP after 2 weeks of medium to severe stomach pains. After some tests I was told that I would be kept in and was found a bed in Abbottsbury ward. That evening I was told that there was a blockage in my bowel and also a growth and that I would be on the operating list the following day. Went into theatre at 5pm and awoke at 7pm in Lulworth ward. The following day the surgeon advised me that they were very pleased at the way the operation went, and was confident that they had removed everything that should not be there. I was very impressed by the work ethic, professionalism and caring nature of all of the staff, surgeon, doctors, staff nurses, nurses and ancilliary staff, who attended to my care during my stay. I can not speak too highly of them and, if I have to go into hospital again then I hope it is Dorchester.

Thank you for such lovely feedback I will make sure the all staff on Abbotsbury and Lulworth wards hear how much you appreciated the services they provided. It must have been a very anxious time for you, it is good to hear that your surgery went well and how well cared for you were. Our staff do an amazing job day in day out and to get such a lovely comment left so publicly will give them a real boost; many thanks. I am very grateful to you for taking the time to write your review and hope you are recovering well. Kind regards, Alison Tong, Director of Nursing, Dorset County Hospital
