My son fell on a playground and broke his arm on Friday.
After being assessed at Burton on Trent hospital he was transferred to QMC for urgent surgery. He was in children's ED for a short time waiting for theatre and the staff were great, they kept things fun and light and reduced any stress and fear.
The orthopaedic doctors were fantastic, excellent communication and a brilliant manner with my son who is only 7. The anaesthetic team were also brilliant, he wasn't scared at all and they almost made it fun!
We stayed on ward D34 that night and Saturday, and although clearly very busy, the nurses were all excellent. My son actually quite enjoyed most of his hospital experience which is amazing and due to all of the fantastic staff involved in his care.
A massive thank you to everyone.
"Excellent care for my son's broken arm"
