"I was referred to A&E ..."

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was referred to A&E by my GP, after an Olecranion abscess burst. I was seen in the Thursday afternoon, and admitted for surgery that evening. I had the op the next day, and was discharged on the following Monday. The nursing staff were friendly amd helpful, as were the operating room staff. Onthe day of my discharge, I liked the touch of the "departure lounge", where one waits for any medication needed, and can get food and drink whike you are waiting. There is an adjacent car park, which gave my son easy access to pick me up.

Well done L and D

What could be improved

Suspect they need more staff on the night shift

Anything else?

Food-not bad

It is encouraging to hear that you had such a positive experience - we try our utmost to provide a responsive and professional service for all our patients. The concept of the departure lounge is proving to be highly successful and we are pleased that, at what must have been an extremely stressful time for you, you were able to enjoy the services offered in the lounge. Thank you for taking the time to add your comments.
