About: Bishop Auckland Hospital

Today I had a 9.00 am appointment for a CT Scan which I attended with a great deal of fear and dread as a result of my claustrophobia. A member of staff called me into the treatment area slightly earlier than 9.00 am which delighted me as I was not looking forward to the wait. They were already aware of my fear and in a professional, friendly and courteous way explained exactly what was going to happen, the approximate time it would take and the sounds I would hear. On hearing me say I intended to close my eyes they again assured me when they responded by saying 'many people do'. Thank you very much, you made me feel special, safe and secure. I was sorry on submitting my review to note that the Radiology Department was not listed. Clare Harley
