"Waiting times to see psychiatrist"

So been on and off anti depressents for over 10 yrs. Recently after a change of medication I started having a really bad time. Having strange and distressing nightmares and on waking was having trouble telling the difference between what was and wasn't real.

My doctor reffered me to see a psychiatrist. I asked about waiting times and was told approx 4 weeks. I've changed medication again and really struggling every day. The hope of actually seeing someone kept me going. The days turned into weeks the weeks into months. It's now been 3 or 4 months and I still haven't received an appointment letter.

The change in medication has stopped the nightmares but I'm constantly either angry or so depressed and low. I've got to the point where I hate every day. Will I ever get to see someone before I just give up, ? ? ?
