About: Teddington Memorial Hospital Hrch

My daughtwr was told to get a doctors appointment due to a infected mosquito bite by a pharmasist as it needed antibiotics. .the doctors had no apts so we were advised to come here so we checked in and was told there would be a wait of maybe 2 hours it was 7pm and the centre closed at 10pm so we settled on a chair, 20 mins later a nurse came out and we were told that due to being full we and 2 other people could not be seen and to go on firther..when i asked where i was told A&E, as i know these are for emergency only we went home and phoned 111 and was seen by a doctor at Epsom at 9.20pm and was given strong antibiotics due to the bite infecting her bloodstrem and having a high fever herbleg was 3 times the size and hot to touch and the nurse at the walk in said the oharmacy will help you i explained that was our forst port of call this afternoons and was told that she must be seen by a docror, the nurse just shrugged their shoulders!!

Thank you for taking the trouble to bring this matter to our attention. I was sorry to read of your recent experience at the Walk-in Centre and for the obvious upset this has caused you. We would like the opportunity to look into this further so I would ask that you please contact our Patient Advice Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 953 0363, or via confidential email at pals.hrch@nhs.net
