We relocated from Ripon, north Yorkshire to Chilwell, Nottingham when I had my second daughter Ella.
Settling in the community with my two little girls and husband who works with the Armed forces and away most of the time on deployments made it very difficult and challenging to settle.
Being new to the area and my child due for weighing, I was directed to Chilwell Children Centre where having finished weighing my child, realised it was a very good setting and have friendly atmosphere.
The environment was welcoming, safe and family based so I started a routine of going to the centre with my children to play with other children while I also try to blend in by socialising and also get to know my community more since I did not have many friends.
The staffs made me aware there were courses running if I am interested I can enrol and creche is available for children during the time of the programme. I thought it was a golden opportunity for me to improve on my career and qualification so I grabbed it with both hands.
Since then I have successfully attended few courses such as:
• Confidence Building
• Assertiveness
• Mindfulness
• IT and Job Search
Which have really enhanced my knowledge in life and also helped me to make more friends. In effect looking at where I started and my situation now I have made progress and am quite happy because these have build my confidence and prepared me in way to find a job and pursue my long go career ambition as a Nurse and feel a lot happier now!
