"Excellent experience at Birth Centre"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

I delivered my first baby at the new Birth Centre at the QE on 27th June 2015. I had visited the centre a couple of times beforehand and was very much hoping labour would progress without any issues allowing me to use this new facility. Fortunately, that was the case and the experience absolutely lived up to expectations, with great support from the midwives, including being allowed to stay overnight in the double ensuite room in which my son was born (although this is dependent on demand for the birthing rooms each day/night). The Birth Centre feels like a calm, fresh oasis in its own area of the hospital but is still reassuringly close to the main labour ward should any medical intervention be needed. I would definitely recommend this facility to others looking for a natural birth option.
