"Undeniably the worst care and attitudes"

About: Conquest Hospital

After visiting my nan who is in the bairn ward of the conquest hospital I am absolutely shocked by the level of care and communication between senior doctors/nurses and patients and their family. The level of care is unforgivable considering my nans condition and the circumstances in which she cannot move and the medication is making her delirious, and no medication is making any difference to the severity of the pain. Cleanliness is also at a high as she had half empty milk drink that was sat on a table in a warm ward for over 2 days, good job she didn't drink it as she has no immune system due to 2 weeks of antibiotics. That are clearly working a treat as her chest infection and bone infections are still there.

We are deeply concerned to read your posting on NHS choices about your nan's inpatient stay on Baird ward at the Conquest hospital. As a Trust we aim to provide a high standard of care and we are therefore alarmed to see that this is not what you describe in your experience. We would advise you to speak directly to the nurse in charge about your concerns or alternatively we have a Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) who would be happy to liaise with Trust staff on your behalf. They can be contacted on 01424 758090 or be email at esh-tr.PALSH@nhs.net. If you prefer face to face contact, their office is open from 10am to 4pm (Mon to Fri). No appointment necessary. Their office is located just inside the main entrance on Level 3 (opposite to the coffee shop). We hope you feel able to raise your concerns as soon as possible to enable us to address them.
