"not sure if my next appointment will be a wasted journey"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Ophthalmology Horsham Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

For over ten years I have visited an eye clinic at Horsham Hospital held once a month on the first Friday of the month. I usually only need to attend once a year. My appointment was booked for this year when I attended last. In June I was told my appointment had been cancelled and I should await a new appointment from East Surrey. As I did not receive said appointment I called East Surrey. They said I needed to contact Horsham Hospital direct as my appointment was still booked. Horsham told me to contact 4 Sight. 4 Sight told me to contact East Surrey. After many phone calls I was told to attend the original appointment. However, on arriving I found there was no consultant only a representative for 4 Sight charity. Horsham has now booked me an appointment with East Surrey in September. I am now unsure whether that will be a waisted journey and have no idea who my consultant will be. My eye condition is Kerataconus for which I have prescribed contact lenses.

Dear Kerataconuslady

I am sorry to read about your experience, it has clearly been frustrating for you.

I would very much like to investigate this further, but in order for me to look into the points you have raised I will need some more information. Please get in touch with me at: tobias.tipper@sash.nhs.uk. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Tobias Tipper
