"Amazing people and great support"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

I had my first baby delivered at Hillingdon hospital on 16th of May and I must admit that it was great experience. I cannot thank enough the team who took care of me when I stayed at Katherine ward (being late for 2 weeks and awaiting induction) and labour unit, as all of them did such a brilliant job. All of the stuff was ever so kind, caring, supportive and reassuring, but I would like to say a personal huge thank you to a couple of the staff from the Katherine ward and another couple from the delivery unit. The hospital itself was very clean and tidy, the delivery room newly refurbished. Great thing is that my husband could stay with me all the time in both Katherine ward and the delivery unit. We had to stay there couple of nights and it was good to have a wide unfoldable chair for partners to stay in as well. One little thing that could be improved is the climate control in the rooms as it was a bit too hot when we stayed there. Once and again, many thanks to the Hillingdon Maternity unit team! 5 stars.

Veronika, thank you very much on behalf of Katherine ward and the Labour ward team for your very kind comments. It is always pleasing to receive feedback such as yours as it reaffirms what a great team we have here at Hillingdon. We have taken on board past comments regarding how we can include dads in the labour and birth process, and have purchased several recliner chairs for dads to rest on if they choose to stay with their partner. We are purchasing additional fans for the rooms on Katherine ward and the labour ward has had a new air conditioning system installed as part of our refurbishment. This will hopefully address the problem of rooms becoming too hot. Once again, thank you for your lovely comments. I will display them on the noticeboards in maternity for the staff to read. Kind regards, Lyn McLaughlin. Labour ward manager.
