"The NHS cannot get better than this!"

Although my wait was over 2.5 hours the care I got once I was seen was incomparable to that that I would have had privately. The staff were (at reception) open and helpful and able to cope with patients who did not speak English at all, had young children with eye problems etc. The reception staff and triage people were fantastic. It is really important to have your first introduction to the system when you are worried about your eye-sight being someone who is knowledgeable and able. Many thanks for that. Although the wait was long, when I saw a doctor the care could not have been better. I have had private care for many years and could not ever have expected the level of care I received yesterday. In a major way the most impressive thing I experienced was where consultants were open to listening to ideas from doctors technically "below" them. That openness shows a huge strength of character and from a patients point of view is a place where you feel very well looked after. An amazing service and huge thanks to the people working there yesterday. Nothing could beat this level of care and ability. Many thanks. Siobhan.
