"Leicester Infirmary A&E, Intensive Care Bay, and..."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

The staff at Leicester Infirmary A&E and ICB were superb. The service struck me as excellent. I was sent to A&E by my GP and felt in safe, qualified hands from the arrival of of the emergency paramedic at my house. After a couple of hours of continuous attention in A&E I was moved to what I think is called an Intensive Care Bay where I stayed for two days. I had more tests than you can shake a stick at and the results came back quicker than Superman could have done it. When I was stable I was transferred to Ward 38 where the staff are clearly overworked and barely able to cope with the constant demands of geriatric patients. About a half of the patients were abusive to hospital staff. How can Ward 38 staff be motivated in these conditions? I don't know. They tell me that they love it.

Dear Edward, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really pleased to hear how well you were cared for by our A&E and Intensive Care teams, and while you were on ward 38 at the Royal. Your comment has been shared with the teams in these areas, and I'm sure they are very grateful for your kind feedback. We hope you have recovered well. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester's Hospitals
