"Appalling ante-natal, care"

About: King George Hospital

I've contacted the maternity service at the number 02089705757 to change the timing of one of my appointments (midwife) and the person at the phone thought they had the right to say that "my work is more important than my baby" just because I couldn't do at the only timing option provided. On top of that the person started speaking to me very rudely, denied to give me their name and ended hanging up the phone because I've said that I wanted their name because I was unhappy with the way they treated me and wanted to raise a formal complaint. Needless to say this is a huge lack of respect for me as a person, and also an aggression for no reason - in an environment which is supposed to provide at least dignity for women. A dreadful first step to ante-natal care! And a joke on what they claim about "taking pride in your care"

I am concerned to hear about this, and I am sorry you were spoken to in this way. This is not the standard we expect from our staff. I’d like to investigate further for you, so please contact me via our PALS team on 01708 435 454, or by email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely Wendy Matthews Interim Chief Nurse
