"Fall and broken hip"

About: Edgware Community Hospital

I am so far very impressed how I have been treated and spoken to by the A & E receptionist and Beach Ward staff. My mother fell, broke her hip at a service station on the way home from holiday. I rang A & E and they were extremely helpful, was able to locate where my mum was and what had been done so far. They owed a great deal of empathy. And I was reassured as I could not get from Essex to Middlesex that night. Once on Beach ward I spoke with the staff nurse to explain a bit about my mums medical history. The staff nurse was extremely pleasant and helpful and knew mums plan of care - I I was once again reassured she was in good hands. Mum will have her operation tomorrow morning hopefully which means she will be on road to recovery soon. Working as a nurse with the NHS myself I can appreciate the difficulties so often encountered today with the general lack of staff. However so far those staff I have encountered remained professional and kept me fully informed. I was going to drive over after a long shift at work myself but the staff put my mind at rest and I will sleep all the better tonight enabling me to make the long drive tomorrow. Thank You .

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback, we're thrilled that both your mother and yourself had a good experience in our trust. We will pass your comments on to the team at Edgware, who will be delighted. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery.
