"new eye clinic shambles"

About: Bmi - Goring Hall Hospital

patients previously seen at Worthing eye clinic and Amering for wet macular degeneration have had their treatment changes to Goring Hall. No a great move sadly, most are elderly and poorly sighted so they have to walk through the hospital to book in. Then back again for camera tests etc and the sit and wait. And wait, and wait... Looks like the surgeon is seeing a private patient?!?! 2 hours later with no word of explaination or apology our elderly mother is seen. So in order to keep this contract I think they need to work on their system!!? Not fair to change someone's treatment plan anyway but to make it worse is truly unfair.

Response from Bmi - Goring Hall Hospital

Dear Patient ,

I am sorry to hear your feedback about the Wet AMD clinic.

It has been established almost 2 years now and the staff are continually looking at ways to make it better for the patients.

If you can give me a call on 07921265153 we will help you.

Some patients like to come into the hospital by the dedicated entry for patients with disabilities and that entry is in the outpatient department which is just a short distance from the main entrance.

However if we know who you are you can arrive directly into the main reception.

I am sorry to hear about delayed waits and we will review to check that clinic is running in accordance with the scheduled plan.

My apologies for lack of communication and updates.

This I will feedback to the team and we will monitor for progress.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about this.

There is definitely an opportunity for improvement here.

Una Palmer

Executive Director.
