I had an appointment for a parathyroid operation on Friday 19th June 2015. I arrived at the Appleby Suite at 6.50am. I was checked in and after various medical tests. I saw my surgeon who put an arrow on my neck where a cut for the surgery would be made, and I saw the anaesthetist. I waited for nearly 8 hours. In a lounge area unable to leave. With a tag around my wrist. I did take the opportunity to pop outside for a couple of minutes and stretch my legs. Then I was told to undress, and get ready for the Operation, and given compression stockings to put on. Then I was informed that my Operation was Cancelled at around 3pm. I waited 9 months for this operation with numerous hospital appointments, blood tests and scans involved. What on earth has happened to the NHS? I am absolutely disgusted. Julie Davenport
