"Post operation care"

I went to the Nuffield Health Hospital for an operation, after which I would need convalescent care for a couple of days before being fit to be at home on my own. I had to make these arrangements myself even though the operation was being done privately.

I phoned numerous care homes before I went into hospital for my treatment but could not find anywhere that would be able to offer me the care I needed. In the end my step-family were able to take me in.

I have since learned that had I had the operation under the NHS the hospital would have been responsible for arranging the post operation care I needed. I will no longer paying for private healthcare or using these services again.
