What I liked

I have been to the hospital on a couple of occasions, for x-ray, out of hours GP and physio and have always found it to be clean and welcoming and the staff very pleasant

What could be improved

The parking is very limited and there are only a few marked Disabled Bays. However unlike other car parks where, if the Disabled Bays are full, you can park in another bay and just display you Blue Badge without paying, here if the Disabled Bays are full, you have to use another bay but Blue Badge or not have to pay £2.50 for the privilege. I think this is disgusting and from the comments I heard whilst waiting to be seen the other day, I am not the only one. Please review this.

Thank you for your comments, which we do appreciate receiving.

There is a much bigger problem with car parking at Hertford County, which stems back to the decision by the local planning authority when the hospital was being built. Despite the room and funding being available, we were not given permission to build the necessary numbers of parking spaces at the new hospital that we knew we would need. As a result, parking at Hertford County is not adequate - but there is nothing that we can do about this.

As for our charging policy, this was introduced in November 2008 and is in the process of being reviewed. While there are people like you, who hold the view that blue badge holders should not have to pay if using an ordinary parking space, this is not supported by everyone - including some disability groups. So this is a complex issue, where the Trust seeks to meet the differing needs of many different groups of people and not just those who are blue badge holders.
