"Ward 16 no pain managrement"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I was admitted to Ward 16 and stayed there for 5 nights. In that time I was in a lot of pain. I was prescribed morpheme for the initial 24 hours post op but the rest of the time was in agony. Especially at night. I was getting the meds they prescribed every 4 hours but was not enough for such a massive operation as I had. I asked to be reviewed and was told to just shout if I needed pain relief. When I did I was told I had to wait to meds time. I called an on call Doctor twice and was giving a diazepam. Why would they not just plan and organise a pain management plan suitable to me in advance? My time there was much worse than it could have been and no one in hospital should be in pain. The food was non edible also.
