What I liked
Care given by sonographer was excellent. He explained everything very carefully.
What could be improved
Receptionist in the Vicki Adkins Breast Care Unit. Ignored me, yet again, to continue her paperwork. I timed her this visit, it took her more than 4 minutes to even look at me while she did paperwork. When she finally did look at me, her first words were "hospital number?" While I waited for my appointment, I saw her do this to several other patients. I explained to her why this was rude and poor customer service, and was congratulated by several other patients for doing so as I left. Every time I have been to this unit she has treated patients with this complete lack of respect. Her poor people skills are highlighed by the fact that the recpetionist who sits next to her for MRI & ultrasound is excellent.
This unit is such an asset, but the great care I have received from the nurses and consultants on my visits is marred by the receptionist's poor people skills.
Anything else?
I have been to the unit three times, and the receptionist's awful attitude has been the same on every occasion. At each appointment, I have noted that every patient has been treated in the same appaling way. Surely managers are aware? Please, send on several training courses!
