Despite my past job as a nurse, I was extremely apprehensive having an endoscopy done today. The staff at the endoscopy department were exceptionally wonderful! The reception member of staff greated my husband and I with a smile. Great in alleviating apprehension. The staff nurse who saw me initially was great and chatty, a great help in alleviating anxiety. I was expecting to spend more than four hours in the department, I was pleasantly surprised when my name was called to go to the endoscopy room in 45 minutes of my arrival. I was escorted into the room by a friendly nurse who introduced me to the doctor. The two nurses who looked after me while the doctor carried out the procedure were like angels to me. They encouraged me and ensured that I was comfortable throughout the procedure. The doctor was very reassuring and as gentle as they could be in carrying out the procedure. I would like to express my heart felt gratitude for the manner they dealt with me in ensuring my comfort, alleviating my anxiety and treating me with such dignity, including the discharge team in the recovery suite. I salute you all for the great job you are doing in helping others with health issues. You certainly greatly contribute to the wealth and welbeing of Cornwall. Thank you and God bless you all xxxx
