"Nottinghamshire County Crisis Team"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult Mental Health Services - Community (County)

(as the patient),

I am a 32 year old female with Schizoaffective Disorder. For the past couple of months I have been struggling with my mental health. I have had traumatic flashbacks, wanted to stop all my medication, been high, been anxious, spent five nights in the Crisis House (Haven House) and been low. I have had two deaths in a fortnight who I was very close to, started some counselling and got a job interview at City Hospital.

Life has been very busy and it has upskittled me. I have had contact with my CPN Melissa Yates from Manor Road in Carlton, and more intensively during her two weeks holiday I have had contact with the County Crisis Team daily. Mostly I have seen Sarah Cheetham and Natalie. I have also used the duty worker system at Manor Road in Carlton and spoke to Nurses Sue and Tracey Duckworth.

My interview is early Monday morning and I am not entirely ready to go back to work but want to see what happens. If I am offered the job and I still can see my nurse Melissa and my Psychiatrist Dr Steels (also from Manor Road, Carlton) then I might accept it. But I do still need their support.

I wanted to thank the team at Manor Road and the County Crisis Team for their recent support. I can be difficult and dependant at times but could not stay safe and calm without their support. I think I would struggle a lot without their support. Thank you.

Dear Ali12

Thank you for your posting. I am pleased to hear that you have found the support you have been receiving has helped and from you post I gather that this is still continuing, albeit with a slight change whilst Melissa is on holiday.

Without knowing more about the conversations you have had with the care team, I cannot specifically say, however, having a job will not stop you being in receipt of a service. The requirements of the job might have an impact on your usual appointment time, although depending on how helpful your potential employers are will depend on how easily you can get time off for appointments.

Please discuss this with Melissa and Dr Steels.

Please accept my best wishes for Monday.

Kind regards

Tim
