"Long wait for short procedure"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

Arrived at 7am for a hip injection. Waited until 3.30 to have anaesthetic. Had to beg for some water at 11. After injection waited 2hrs and 15 minutes in recovery room for the sole reason that nobody was available to help the nurse push my bed back into ward. All in all I spent 12 and 1/2 hr in Addenbrookes for a 1/2 hr intervention. I cannot blame anybody in particular as staff were friendly and seemingly doing their best in a world of chaos. I wonder if it would be a possibility to have patients coming at staggered times? Maybe a batch for morning and another one for afternoon ? The wait inside hospital before any intervention can build up tension and stress that patients could do without.
